BON CHEFFY PRIVACY NOTICE

At Bon Cheffy, the kitchen may get messy. Your privacy shouldn't.

This Privacy Notice explains how Girtonian LLC, doing business as Bon Cheffy (“Bon Cheffy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use the Bon Cheffy application, website, Bon Cheffy Club membership, AI-powered cooking tools, and related services collectively referred to as the “Services.”

This Privacy Notice should be read together with our Terms of Service.

By using Bon Cheffy, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Notice.

1. ABOUT BON CHEFFY

Bon Cheffy is an AI-powered cooking companion.

Depending on how you use the Services, Bon Cheffy may help you:

• photograph ingredients or your refrigerator;
• generate recipes using artificial intelligence;
• browse recipes and cookbooks;
• save recipes;
• receive personalized recommendations;
• cook step-by-step with Cheffy;
• use voice-assisted cooking features;
• start and manage cooking timers;
• request ingredient substitutions;
• upload cooking progress photos;
• upload finished meal photos or videos;
• receive playful “Roast Me” critiques;
• save cooking history;
• earn badges and track streaks;
• participate in Bon Cheffy Club features;
• interact with community or creator recipes; and
• share selected content with others.

Because these experiences involve cameras, microphones, AI systems, and personalized data, we believe you should understand what happens to your information.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The information we collect depends on the Bon Cheffy features you choose to use.

A. Account Information

If you create a Bon Cheffy account, we may collect information such as:

• your name or display name;
• email address;
• account identifier;
• profile image;
• authentication information;
• account settings;
• membership status; and
• account creation and login information.

If you use a third-party sign-in service, such as Apple or Google, we may receive limited account information from that service according to the permissions you authorize.

We do not receive your third-party account password.

B. Cooking Preferences and Profile Information

You may choose to tell Bon Cheffy about preferences such as:

• favorite cuisines;
• preferred recipes;
• cooking skill level;
• ingredient preferences;
• dietary preferences;
• foods you dislike;
• serving preferences;
• cooking history;
• recipe saves;
• cookbook saves;
• badges;
• streaks; and
• other personalization choices.

Providing this information may improve recommendations but is optional unless required for a feature you request.

C. Dietary and Allergy Information

You may choose to provide information concerning:

• allergies;
• food sensitivities;
• dietary restrictions;
• ingredients to avoid; or
• other food-related preferences.

Some of this information could reveal information related to your health.

You are not required to provide health-related information to use basic Bon Cheffy functionality.

If you provide it, we use it primarily to provide the cooking or personalization features you request.

Bon Cheffy is not a medical service, and you should not rely on Bon Cheffy as your sole method of managing a serious allergy or medical dietary requirement.

D. Photos and Images

When you choose to use camera or image features, you may provide:

• refrigerator photos;
• pantry photos;
• ingredient photos;
• meal photos;
• cooking progress photos;
• profile images;
• recipe images; or
• other images you choose to submit.

We use these images to provide the feature you requested, such as:

• identifying potential ingredients;
• generating recipes;
• providing cooking feedback;
• generating a Roast Me result; or
• displaying content you choose to save or share.

Bon Cheffy does not need continuous access to your camera.

Camera access should occur only when you choose to use a camera-enabled feature and grant the required device permission.

3. VIDEOS

Some Bon Cheffy features may allow you to upload or record cooking or meal videos.

We may process videos to:

• understand what you are cooking;
• analyze a finished meal;
• generate AI feedback;
• generate Roast Me content;
• support social sharing; or
• provide another feature you specifically request.

Videos may contain information about your surroundings.

You should review what is visible or audible before uploading a video.

Do not submit videos of other people unless you have permission to do so.

4. VOICE AND AUDIO INFORMATION

Voice search uses your device’s speech-recognition service when you choose the microphone feature and grant the required permission. That service may process speech remotely. Microphone permission and AI-powered cooking are separate controls; enabling AI does not activate your microphone.

When you use AI cooking assistance, relevant questions or text are processed by OpenAI under your AI opt-in. When generated narration is used, Bon Cheffy sends the narration script to ElevenLabs to create audio; the resulting audio may be stored in Supabase. Generating spoken output does not require recording your voice.

Bon Cheffy does not use your voice to identify you through a biometric voiceprint. Any future biometric feature would require its own applicable notice and consent; it is not authorized by the AI toggle.

5. AI CONVERSATIONS AND PROMPTS

AI is optional and starts off. By selecting “Enable AI features” in the introduction opened from Settings → Privacy & AI or your first AI use, you authorize Bon Cheffy to process and share the information reasonably needed to provide the AI features you use while the AI-powered cooking toggle remains on. This is an ongoing choice for your account on that device, rather than a separate approval for each request. Creating an account, acknowledging this Privacy Notice, or granting device permissions does not by itself enable AI.

This authorization covers related processing within the cooking features you use, including ingredient and photo analysis, recipe generation and imports, substitutions and recipe changes, cooking tips and answers, food roasts, and generated narration. Depending on the feature, the relevant information can include questions, ingredient text, recipe content and cooking steps, imported link content, submitted photos, dietary or allergy preferences you provided, and narration scripts. It does not authorize unrelated collection or use of your information.

Bon Cheffy uses OpenAI for AI cooking responses and image or recipe analysis, ElevenLabs for generated narration, and Supabase for uploads, generated audio, and storage. These services receive the relevant content through Bon Cheffy’s service infrastructure as needed for the feature. You do not need to approve each individual service call while AI is enabled.

You can turn AI off at any time in Settings → Privacy & AI to stop new AI requests from that account on that device. Turning it off does not recall requests already sent or delete previous uploads, recipes, or audio. Saved recipes and their existing instructions remain available without AI. The choice is stored per account on the device and is not synchronized across devices. A changed consent scope or reset local app data may require a new opt-in.

Camera, photo-library, and microphone access remain separate device permissions. Enabling AI does not grant those permissions, start continuous recording, publish content to other users, or authorize generalized model training. See the Privacy Notice for retention, training, and other privacy choices.

6. OUR AI TRAINING COMMITMENT

Bon Cheffy may analyze aggregate usage information to improve the product.

However, we do not use your private:

• refrigerator photos;
• ingredient photos;
• progress photos;
• meal videos;
• voice recordings;
• private cooking conversations; or
• other private User Content

to train generalized artificial intelligence models without providing separate notice and obtaining consent where required.

We also seek to use AI service providers under terms appropriate for business and application use that restrict independent use of Bon Cheffy user data beyond providing and securing the contracted services.

This does not prevent us from using:

• aggregated information;
• de-identified information;
• feedback you intentionally provide;
• safety and abuse signals; or
• other information that can no longer reasonably be associated with you

to understand and improve Bon Cheffy.

7. AI MEDIA PROCESSING AND STORAGE

When you use an AI photo feature with AI enabled, the submitted photo can be uploaded to Supabase and shared with OpenAI for the feature. Uploaded media and generated audio may be stored even if you do not separately save a recipe. Uploaded media may be accessible to anyone with its URL. Review what is visible in a photo before submitting it.

Automatic deletion immediately after a request is not guaranteed. Retention depends on the feature, storage and provider arrangements, and operational, security, or legal requirements described in Section 17. Turning AI off does not delete content already processed or stored. Account and data deletion are described in Section 18.

8. DEVICE, USAGE, AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION

When you use Bon Cheffy, we may automatically receive technical information such as:

• device type;
• operating system;
• app version;
• browser type;
• IP address;
• language;
• approximate location derived from IP address;
• device or app identifiers;
• date and time of use;
• screens or features accessed;
• interactions with the Services;
• crash reports;
• diagnostic information;
• performance information; and
• security-related events.

We use this information to operate, protect, understand, and improve Bon Cheffy.

Bon Cheffy does not currently require precise GPS location for its core cooking features.

If we introduce functionality requiring precise location, we will request device permission and provide appropriate notice before collecting it.

9. PAYMENT AND BON CHEFFY CLUB INFORMATION

If you join the Bon Cheffy Club, we may process information relating to:

• membership plan;
• subscription status;
• purchase date;
• renewal date;
• transaction identifier;
• promotional eligibility;
• trial status;
• billing history; and
• cancellation or refund status.

Payments may be processed through third parties such as:

• Apple App Store;
• Google Play;
• Stripe; or
• another payment processor identified at checkout.

Bon Cheffy generally does not receive or store your complete payment-card number when payments are handled by these providers.

Payment providers process payment information under their own privacy practices and applicable contractual obligations.

10. COMMUNICATIONS WITH BON CHEFFY

If you contact us, we may collect:

• your name;
• email address;
• the contents of your request;
• screenshots or files you provide;
• account information relevant to the issue; and
• our communications with you.

We use this information to respond to requests and provide customer support.

11. COMMUNITY INFORMATION

As the Bon Cheffy community develops, you may choose to participate in features involving:

• profile names;
• avatars;
• recipes;
• recipe comments;
• cooking achievements;
• Club badges;
• challenges;
• community posts;
• creator content;
• recipe collections; or
• other social functionality.

Information you intentionally designate as public or share with the community may be visible to other users.

Do not post information publicly that you want to keep private.

Future community features may have additional privacy controls or community-specific notices.

12. HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may use personal information to:

Provide Bon Cheffy

Including to:

• create and manage accounts;
• identify ingredients;
• generate recipes;
• personalize recommendations;
• provide cooking instructions;
• process progress photos;
• operate Cooking Mode;
• process voice commands;
• run timers;
• provide substitutions;
• generate Roast Me results;
• save recipes;
• manage cookbooks;
• maintain cooking history;
• operate badges and streaks;
• provide Bon Cheffy Club benefits; and
• provide other requested features.

Personalize the Experience

We may use information such as saved recipes, cooking history, preferences, and previous interactions to make Bon Cheffy more relevant to you.

Operate Bon Cheffy Club

We may use information to:

• determine membership status;
• provide member benefits;
• administer trials;
• manage renewals;
• manage promotional offers; and
• support billing issues.

Improve the Services

We may analyze usage patterns, aggregated information, feedback, performance information, and error reports to improve Bon Cheffy.

Communicate With You

We may send:

• transactional notices;
• membership information;
• account notices;
• security alerts;
• support communications;
• important service updates; and
• marketing communications where permitted.

You can unsubscribe from promotional email communications using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in those communications.

Protect Bon Cheffy and Our Users

We may process information to:

• prevent fraud;
• prevent abuse;
• enforce our Terms;
• protect accounts;
• investigate security incidents;
• detect harmful activity;
• moderate content; and
• comply with law.

13. CAMERA AND MICROPHONE PERMISSIONS

Bon Cheffy may request device permissions only when reasonably necessary for features you choose to use.

Examples include:

Camera

Used for features such as:

• photographing ingredients;
• photographing your refrigerator;
• taking progress photos;
• uploading finished meals; and
• Roast Me.

Microphone

Used for features such as:

• voice questions;
• hands-free Cooking Mode;
• voice commands; and
• conversational Cheffy interactions.

You can revoke camera or microphone permissions through your device settings.

Disabling a permission may prevent the associated feature from working but should not prevent access to unrelated Bon Cheffy features.

14. WHEN WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION

We do not disclose personal information simply because someone wants access to it.

We may disclose information in the circumstances described below.

Service Providers

We may provide information to companies that help operate Bon Cheffy, such as providers of:

• artificial intelligence;
• cloud infrastructure;
• database hosting;
• image processing;
• speech recognition;
• text-to-speech;
• authentication;
• analytics;
• error monitoring;
• security;
• email delivery;
• customer support; and
• payment processing.

These providers may process information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services.

We expect service providers to protect personal information in accordance with applicable law and their agreements with us.

App Marketplaces and Payment Providers

Apple, Google, Stripe, and other payment or marketplace providers may process information independently when you make a purchase or manage a subscription through their systems.

At Your Direction

We may disclose information when you ask us to do so.

For example, when you choose to:

• share a Roast Me result;
• publish a recipe;
• share a recipe card;
• participate publicly in a community feature; or
• connect Bon Cheffy with another service.

Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

• comply with applicable law;
• respond to valid legal process;
• protect someone's safety;
• investigate fraud;
• protect the rights or property of Bon Cheffy;
• enforce our Terms; or
• investigate security or abuse.

Business Transactions

If Bon Cheffy is involved in:

• a merger;
• acquisition;
• financing;
• restructuring;
• bankruptcy;
• sale of assets; or
• similar business transaction,

information may be disclosed as part of evaluating or completing that transaction.

Any successor will remain subject to applicable privacy obligations concerning personal information it receives.

15. WE DO NOT SELL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

As of the Effective Date of this Privacy Notice, Bon Cheffy does not sell personal information for money.

We also do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as that term is defined under California privacy law.

If our practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Notice and provide any choices, notices, or opt-out mechanisms required by applicable law.

16. ADVERTISING

Bon Cheffy's current business model is centered on Bon Cheffy Club membership rather than selling personal information.

If Bon Cheffy introduces advertising in the future, this Privacy Notice and applicable app-store disclosures will be updated to explain the relevant data practices before those practices are introduced where legally required.

17. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, including to:

• provide your account;
• provide features you request;
• maintain saved content;
• maintain Bon Cheffy Club records;
• resolve disputes;
• enforce agreements;
• maintain security;
• prevent fraud;
• comply with legal obligations; and
• maintain required business records.

Different categories of information may be retained for different periods.

Account Information

Account information is generally retained while your account remains active.

When you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify information associated with your account subject to legitimate exceptions described below.

Saved Recipes and User Content

Information you intentionally save may remain associated with your account until you delete that content or delete your account.

Unsaved AI Inputs

AI inputs, uploaded media, generated audio, and provider records may be retained according to their storage and processing arrangements and applicable operational, security, or legal needs. Not saving a recipe or turning AI off does not itself delete these records; automatic deletion after a request is not guaranteed.

Subscription and Transaction Records

Certain transaction records may need to be retained after account deletion to comply with accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, chargeback, or other legal obligations.

Security Records

Some records may be retained where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, maintain system security, enforce our Terms, or protect legal rights.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete or de-identify it.

18. ACCOUNT AND DATA DELETION

You may request deletion of your Bon Cheffy account and associated personal information.

Where available, account deletion can be initiated through the Bon Cheffy application or website.

Deleting your account is different from cancelling Bon Cheffy Club.

If you have an active subscription purchased through Apple or Google, deleting your Bon Cheffy account may not automatically cancel the marketplace subscription.

You should cancel the subscription through the applicable marketplace before deleting the account if you want recurring billing to stop.

Following an authenticated account deletion request, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account unless retention is reasonably necessary to:

• comply with law;
• complete a transaction;
• maintain tax or accounting records;
• prevent fraud;
• maintain security;
• enforce our agreements;
• respond to disputes; or
• establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Backup systems may retain residual copies for a limited period before routine deletion.

19. YOUR PRIVACY CHOICES

Use Settings → Privacy & AI to enable or disable AI-powered cooking for your account on this device. While enabled, the AI features you use process the relevant data described in Section 5 without repeated approval prompts. Turning AI off stops new AI requests; device permissions, stored content, subscriptions, and account deletion are managed separately.

Depending on the feature and your device, you may be able to:

• update profile information;
• change cooking preferences;
• delete saved recipes;
• delete uploaded content;
• disable personalization;
• disable camera access;
• disable microphone access;
• change notification permissions;
• unsubscribe from marketing email;
• cancel Bon Cheffy Club; and
• delete your account.

Operating systems may provide additional privacy controls.

20. U.S. STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on where you live and whether the applicable law applies to Bon Cheffy, you may have rights concerning your personal information.

These may include the right to:

• confirm whether we process your information;
• access personal information;
• obtain certain information about our data practices;
• correct inaccurate personal information;
• delete personal information;
• obtain a portable copy of certain information;
• opt out of certain sales or sharing;
• limit certain uses of sensitive personal information;
• withdraw consent where applicable; and
• appeal certain decisions relating to privacy requests.

You will not be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right provided by applicable law.

21. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

If the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (“CCPA”), applies to Bon Cheffy and your personal information, California residents may have rights including the right to:

• know what personal information is collected;
• know the categories of sources from which information is collected;
• know why information is collected or used;
• know the categories of third parties to whom information is disclosed;
• access certain personal information;
• request deletion;
• request correction;
• opt out of sale or sharing where applicable;
• limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable; and
• receive equal service and pricing when exercising privacy rights.

Bon Cheffy does not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If we become legally required to recognize an applicable browser-based opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control, we will honor that signal as required by law.

22. CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Depending on how you use Bon Cheffy, categories of information we may collect under U.S. privacy laws can include:

23. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Bon Cheffy is currently designed for adults.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, to create an account or use Bon Cheffy independently under our Terms.

Bon Cheffy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that personal information has been collected from a child in circumstances prohibited by applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Future family or child-focused Bon Cheffy experiences may require a separate privacy framework and parental consent before launch.

24. SECURITY

We use reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information.

Safeguards may include measures such as:

• encrypted transmission;
• access controls;
• authentication;
• secure infrastructure;
• monitoring;
• logging;
• employee or contractor access restrictions;
• service-provider security requirements; and
• incident-response procedures.

No online service can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access.

25. DATA BREACHES AND SECURITY INCIDENTS

If a security incident affects personal information, we will investigate and take reasonable steps to address it.

Where applicable law requires notice to affected individuals or government authorities, we will provide such notice.

26. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES

Bon Cheffy may contain links or integrations involving services we do not control.

Examples may include:

• social networks;
• payment services;
• app marketplaces;
• partner websites;
• creator websites; or
• external recipe resources.

Those services have their own privacy practices.

This Privacy Notice does not govern independent third-party services.

27. INTERNATIONAL DATA PROCESSING

Bon Cheffy and its service providers may process information in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.

Privacy and data-protection laws may differ between jurisdictions.

Where required by applicable law, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

28. EMAIL AND NOTIFICATIONS

Bon Cheffy may send service-related communications concerning:

• your account;

• Bon Cheffy Club;
• subscriptions;
• trials;
• payment issues;
• feature changes; or
• other important Service information.

These transactional communications may be necessary to provide the Services.

If you separately opt in to promotional communications, we may also send information about:

• new recipes;

• cooking challenges;
• creator collaborations;
• new features; and
• promotions.

You may unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the instructions included in the message.

29. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS

If you enable push notifications, Bon Cheffy may send notifications such as:

• timer alerts;
• cooking reminders;
• recipe recommendations;
• streak reminders;
• badge notifications;
• Bon Cheffy Club information; or
• other optional messages.

You can manage push-notification permissions through your device settings.

30. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY NOTICE

We may update this Privacy Notice as Bon Cheffy evolves.

If we make material changes, we may notify you through:

• the app;
• email;
• our website; or
• another reasonable method.

The “Last Updated” date will identify when this Privacy Notice was most recently revised.

Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent before a new use of personal information, we will provide it.

Bon Cheffy is meant to become part of your kitchen—not take ownership of it.

Your refrigerator photos are yours.

Your voice is yours.

Your cooking history is yours.

Your terrible first attempt at soufflé is definitely yours.

We collect and process information to make Cheffy useful, personal, safe, and fun—not to turn your kitchen into an advertising profile.

That's the kind of club we want to build.
